Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, has confirmed the arrest of five suspected killers of over 40 worshippers at St. Francis Catholic Church in the Owo area of the state.
Akeredolu made the disclosure via a string of tweets on his verified Twitter handle on Tuesday.
This comes barely a few hours after the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen. Lucky Irabor, announced the arrest of the masterminds of the attack in Abuja.
Akeredolu further disclosed that the owner of the house where the attackers stayed before the June 5 attack has been arrested.
He said: “I am happy to announce that we have confirmed the arrest of the attackers of St Francis Catholic Church, Owo.
“The Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Lucky Irabor has also announced it. We have known for a while but we needed not to come out with it because more works are still ongoing.

“We did not spare a moment in trailing the terrorists since the horrendous attacks on innocent worshippers.
“We will continue to give the necessary supports to our security agencies towards protecting the lives and property in the state,” Governor Akeredolu stated.
