Ify Ekubo, the sister-in-law of late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo, has spoken about her grief following his death, expressing deep pain over what she described as unresolved moments and unfulfilled plans with the movie star.
Ekubo reportedly passed away on May 11 in Lagos after complications linked to kidney cancer.
In an emotional reflection, Ify said one of her greatest regrets was a phone conversation in which the actor promised to call back but never did.
She also expressed sadness over a planned trip to Houston, Texas, which she said would no longer take place.
She further noted that his death had deeply affected her children, who regarded him as a mentor and guiding figure.
According to her, the loss feels particularly painful because of the suddenness of his passing and the absence of a final goodbye to loved ones who held him dear.
Her comments have since drawn reactions from sympathisers and fans mourning the actor, who was widely celebrated in the Nigerian film industry.
