Allwell Ademola laid to rest in Lagos

Late Nollywood actress Allwell Ademola has been buried in Lagos following her death at the age of 49.

Ademola was said to have died of a heart attack at her residence and was rushed to a hospital, where she was confirmed dead.

Her passing sparked an outpouring of grief across the Nollywood industry, where she was widely admired for her talent and long-standing contributions.

A service of songs was held on Thursday at the Blueroof Auditorium of Lagos State Television, Ikeja, drawing colleagues, friends and family members. The event was followed by a candlelight procession in her honour.

Her burial took place on Friday at the Atan Cemetery in the Yaba area of Lagos, where clergymen led prayers and hymns. Family members and loved ones paid their final respects at the graveside.

Several Nollywood stars, including Toyin Abraham, Afeez Owo, Saidi Balogun, Yetunde Wunmi and Adedoyin Kukoyi, were present at the funeral.

Allwell Ademola was celebrated as a versatile actress, writer and director.

She began acting at a young age and rose to prominence in 2008, featuring in notable films such as Ile Wa, Third Eye, Murder at the Bar and Mimi’s Voice.
