Anthony Joshua resumes training weeks after fatal car crash

Former heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua has returned to the gym weeks after surviving a fatal car crash that claimed the lives of two of his close friends.

The accident occurred on December 29, 2025, in the Makun area along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. Joshua was reportedly involved in the crash, which left the boxing star grieving the loss of his companions.

On Friday, videos circulating on social media showed Joshua back in training, engaging in various workout routines at the gym. In the footage, he was seen lifting weights, riding an exercise bike, and spending time in the swimming pool area as part of his fitness regimen.

Joshua also shared a photo on his Snapchat story showing the elapsed time on a cardio machine, accompanied by the caption, “FIGHTERS,” suggesting a renewed focus on training and recovery.

The boxer’s return to the gym has drawn attention from fans, many of whom see it as a step toward rebuilding both his physical condition and mental strength following the tragic incident.
