Prospective aspirants on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for both Ekiti and Osun governorship elections are to cough out N22.5 million to participate in the party’s primaries.

The ruling party stated that aspirants are to pay N2.5 million for Expression of Interest Form while the Nomination Form cost N20 million.

Physically-challenged and female aspirants are to pay 50 per cent of the prescribed fees; N11.25 million.

National Secretary of the APC Caretaker and Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), Senator John Akpanudodehe, had in a statement on Sunday stated that sale of form begins on November 16 for Ekiti governorship election.

Also, the party stated that sale of forms for Osun State will commence on November 18.

For Ekiti, the the deadline for the submission of forms is on Tuesday January 11, 2022 while the screening of aspirants commences on January 13, 2022. The governorship primary election holds on Saturday January 22, 2022.

In the case of Osun State, the party states that the deadline for the submission of forms is on Friday February 18, 2022 while the screening of aspirants commences on Tuesday 22, 2022. The governorship primary election holds on Saturday March 5, 2022.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed June 18, 2022 for Ekiti governorship election and July 16, 2022 for the same exercise in Osun.

Governor Kayode Fayemi of APC will not be seeking a re-election as he is spending the constitutionally-allowed two terms. But Governor Gboyega Oyetola is seeking a re-election.
