Folajimi Mohammed, son of Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, on Friday, lost the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket to represent Ikeja State Constituency 1 in the Lagos State House of Assembly.

Mohammed, who currently represents the constituency for the second time, was defeated by Seyi Lawal.

The minister’s son garnered 09 votes, while Lawal emerged winner of the primaries with 15 votes.

Nine aspirants, who contested for the Ikeja constituency 1 APC ticket are Mohammed, Lawal, Ladapo Oyebiyi, Ismail Balogun, Taofeek Olorunfunmi, Olabode Akerele, Adegboyega Kuku, Dr Bode Tawak, and Adesipe Adebiyi.

Announcing the result, the chairman of the APC Electoral Committee for the constituency, Ewosho Oladunjoye, said the other seven aspirants polled zero vote, adding that there was 01 void vote.

The Star reports that Babajide, son of a former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro, on Friday, lost the APC ticket to represent Eti-Osa 1 Federal Constituency at House of Representatives in 2023.

Obanikoro, who currently represents his constituency at the green chamber, lost the APC ticket to Oyekanmi Elegushi, brother to Oba Saheed Elegushi of Ikate Kingdom, by a margin of 02 votes.

Obanikoro polled 23 votes, while Elegushi garnered 25 votes at the primaries held at the Iru Victoria Island Local Council Development Area of Lagos State on Friday.

Announcing the result, the APC Electoral Officer, Tolani Sule, said: “At the end of the exercise, Oyekanmi Elegushi scored 25 votes; Babjide Obanikoro scored 23; Adegoke Rasaq scored 02 votes.”
