APC remains Nigeria’s most viable platform for stability, progress — Yilwatda

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has declared that the ruling party remains the most credible political platform capable of delivering stability, progress, and national renewal in Nigeria.

Yilwatda made the remarks in Abuja while addressing key political, economic and governance issues, stressing that Nigeria cannot afford uncertainty during a critical phase of democratic consolidation.

In a statement issued on Thursday by his Special Adviser on Media and Communications Strategy, Abimbola Tooki, the APC chairman said the party possesses the national spread, structure and experience required to manage Nigeria’s diversity and complexity.

He stated that the APC is not only preparing for future elections but also working to deepen governance, strengthen democracy and improve public trust.

Yilwatda said the party has demonstrated institutional maturity and administrative capacity needed to drive national development.

Yilwatda said governance involves difficult decisions, adding that the APC remains committed to supporting reforms that promote long-term stability and prosperity.

He noted that the President Bola Tinubu administration faces a serious nation-building task requiring patience, courage, and political discipline.

The APC chairman also criticised opposition parties, saying their internal crises reflect a lack of preparedness for national leadership.

He noted that political platforms unable to manage internal disputes cannot effectively govern a complex federation like Nigeria.

Yilwatda warned Nigerians against entrusting national leadership to parties plagued by factional disputes and structural weaknesses.

He added that the APC is not afraid of political competition and prefers to win elections through popular support.

According to him, the party believes in democratic legitimacy rather than technical disqualification of opponents.

He said victory earned through public trust strengthens credibility and leadership authority.

Yilwatda attributed the APC’s growing confidence to expanding structures, grassroots engagement, and improved internal discipline.

On security, Yilwatda described the federal government’s mass trial of over 500 terrorism suspects as evidence of seriousness in tackling insecurity.

He said the development reflects a shift from arrests to judicial accountability and rule-of-law enforcement.

The APC chairman also commended the party’s Osun State chapter, urging discipline and unity ahead of future elections.

He stressed the need for a clear command structure, conflict resolution mechanisms and data-driven campaign strategies.

Yilwatda described Osun as a strategic battleground and rehearsal ground for the 2027 general election.

He reaffirmed the APC’s commitment to strengthening governance, improving security, and promoting national development.
