Troops of the Nigerian Army have commenced a joint operation with local vigilantes to rescue two farmers abducted in Amedokhian community, Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State.
The victims, identified as Mr. Clifford Isolate and an unidentified woman, were kidnapped on August 29 while working on a farm in Ukoni Amedokhian.
Security sources said the army, working alongside local vigilantes and the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of Esan youths, swiftly mobilised to the area to track down the abductors.
“Our troops were deployed promptly to apprehend the kidnappers while ensuring the safety of the victims,” a source said.
As of the time of filing this report, the rescue operation is still ongoing.
