The Asagba of Asaba in Delta State, Prof. Chike Edozien, has joined his ancestors at the age of 100.
It was gathered that Edozien, the 13th Asagba of Asaba, died on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, barely a month after celebrating his 100th birthday.
The monarch’s palace has yet to officially announce the death of the revered traditional ruler as of press time.

Edozien was an important figure in modern-day Nigerian affairs. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo conferred the national honour of Commander of the Federal Republic on him in 2003.
He was also one of the most respected traditional rulers who encouraged and promoted mutual coexistence, especially between the people in the south and Northern Nigeria.
He was also the Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
