Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar will on Monday formally register as a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and receive his party card.
Senior aides confirmed on Sunday that preparations have been finalized for his registration at Jada Ward 1 in Jada Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
Atiku hinted at the move during a meeting with the ADC leadership in Adamawa earlier in the day, describing the party as the platform for a “new political movement” in Nigeria.
Addressing supporters, he said: “Today, the new movement has brought us to the ADC.
“Our new party is ADC, and our new leaders in Adamawa are here.
“On Monday, I will officially be in the ADC.
“Will you accept me?” The crowd responded with an enthusiastic “Yes.”
He added that he looked forward to completing the process on Monday.
