Atiku to Nigerians: There’ll be no hunger, insecurity if you vote PDP

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has urged Nigerians to vote for the party in the 2023 general election to ensure good governance.

Atiku enjoined Nigerians to vote for the PDP to restore unity, to salvage the economy and to ensure security of the country.

The former Vice President said this at the flag-off of the PDP presidential campaign in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital on Monday.

The PDP presidential candidate stated that Nigeria’s economy was better under the party, adding that the All Progressives Congress (APC) failed to fulfil its campaign promises of making the country better than it took over from the PDP.

Atiku said: “Today, we are inaugurating our campaign to rescue Nigeria from poverty, insecurity, and bad governance. Therefore, I urge you to vote for the PDP.

“Nigeria said they wanted change, and they voted for change in 2015. What have we seen? What we have seen is poverty, insecurity, lack of jobs, and disunity.

“Our children are no longer going to school. Is that what we want to continue with?

“If you vote for PDP there will be no more hunger and insecurity. If you vote for the PDP there will be unity in Nigeria,” he stated.

Also speaking at the rally, the PDP National Chairman, Sen. Iyochia Ayu, thanked Nigerians for turning out for the flag-off of the campaign.

Ayu said PDP’s campaign train was leaving the station slowly to enable those who were yet to get on board to join the train, noting that Nigerians were anxiously waiting for PDP to return to power to rescue the country and restore the economy.

“We will restore the economy and there will be jobs for the teeming youths of this country. We need your support to restore the country. PDP will not disappoint you,” the PDP chairman added.

In his remarks, the governor of Akwa Ibom State, Udom Emmanuel, said Atiku has the capacity to unite the country.

Governor Emmanuel, who is the chairman of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council, said the campaign was to revitalise Nigeria and to restore hope to the country.

He urged Nigerians to support the PDP presidential candidate to eradicate poverty, hunger, and insecurity from the country in 2023.
