Suspected armed bandits have attacked Janjala Village in Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State, injuring one resident and abducting several others.
Security sources said the incident occurred at about 12:30 a.m. on March 2 when the attackers stormed the village, firing sporadically and causing panic among residents.
Two community members, Yusuf Abdulwahab and Idris Ahmed, later reported the attack at the divisional headquarters in Kagarko. They brought along a victim, Shamsu Adamu, 25, who sustained a gunshot wound to the stomach.
The injured victim was rushed to the General Hospital in Kagarko for urgent medical treatment.
The assailants reportedly abducted an unspecified number of residents and fled to an unknown location.
Following the report, a joint security team, working alongside other agencies and local vigilante groups, was deployed to the area. Operatives combed surrounding bushes in a bid to rescue the kidnapped victims and apprehend the perpetrators.
Efforts to track down the attackers and secure the safe return of those abducted are ongoing.
