No fewer than 35 residents have been killed after bandits struck in Woro Village, Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State.
It was gathered that the bandits also set ablaze homes and shops during the attack on Tuesday night.
Confirming the incident on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, the lawmaker representing Kaiama in the Kwara State House of Assembly, Saidu Ahmed, said many residents were still missing in the surrounding bush after fleeing the community during the attack.

Ahmed said: “I’m on my way to Woro where the mayhem took place yesterday, along with a detachment of soldiers from Ilorin.
“I have also been informed that other soldiers are following the attackers. I’m glad to say that I spoke with the Emir this morning and he is alive.”
The Kwara State Police Command has yet to speak on the incident as of the time of this report.
