Troops of Operation Enduring Peace have arrested a suspected fake soldier accused of phone snatching, public disturbance and impersonating security personnel in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The suspect, identified as Salim Idris, was arrested at about 11:30 am on October 25 at Filin Sukuwa in Jos North while dressed in military camouflage, the military said.
The Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, Operation Enduring Peace, Captain Chinonso Oteh, confirmed the arrest on Monday.
“Yes, it is true. That one happened in the Jos North area,” Oteh said.
In a follow-up report, Oteh said troops from Sector 1 of the operation apprehended Idris following credible intelligence about his alleged criminal activities in the area.
