The Bayelsa State Police Command has arrested police officers involved in the assault on a tricycle rider in the state.

This follows a viral video making the rounds on social media platforms, showing police officers assaulting a tricycle driver in Bayelsa State.

The Bayelsa State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Musa Mohammed, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday, January 17, 2026.

Mohammed said the State Commissioner of Police, Iyamah Edebor, condemned the act in strong terms and described it as unacceptable and contrary to professional policing standards.
