President Muhammadu Buhari has directed security operatives to find and deal with the killers of 51 residents of Umogidi in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State.
Buhari, who condemned the killings, said all efforts must be made to end the “extreme violence”.
He also directed the secret services, police, and military commanders to immediately enhance surveillance on every front and review the security management in the affected areas.

The victims were killed after gunmen stormed Umogidi and opened fire on the residents on Wednesday, April 5.

The President, while reacting via a statement issued by his spokesman, Garba Shehu, on Saturday, April 8, condemned the “use of terrorism as a tool in inter-communal conflicts”.
Buhari, who commiserated with the families of those who lost their lives in the attack, said: “Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of those murdered. The entire nation stands united in the fight against the forces of terror and evil.”
