Boko Haram member surrenders to army in Borno

A suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP member has surrendered to Nigerian Army in Borno State.

The suspect, identified as Liman Mudo, 27, turned himself in on Sunday at about 3:46 p.m. to troops of 3 Battalion (Mechanised) in Gamboru Ngala.

Mudo, who hails from Suwaa village in Bama Local Government Area, was immediately profiled and documented in line with standard military procedures following his surrender.

The sources said the general security situation across the theatre of operations remains calm but unpredictable, while troops’ morale and operational effectiveness remain satisfactory.

Military authorities continue to encourage surrender and disarmament as part of ongoing efforts to degrade terrorist capabilities in the North-East region.
