Grammy-winning Afrobeats star Burna Boy has maintained total silence on all his social media platforms as show cancellations continue following his controversial confrontation with a sleeping fan during his “No Sign of Weakness” tour in the United States.
The singer, known for his active presence on Instagram, X and Facebook, has not issued any comment or clarification since the incident went viral.
The controversy began on November 12 at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado, when Burna Boy stopped his performance to call out a woman in the front row who appeared to be asleep.
He requested that she be escorted out before he resumed, a move that immediately drew criticism online, with many describing his action as harsh and arrogant.
The fan, later identified as Chaltu Jateny, said she had attended the concert while grieving the death of her daughter’s father.
She explained on X that she was emotionally and physically drained but hoped the concert would help lift her spirits.
The viral video sparked intense backlash, with critics accusing Burna Boy of insensitivity, while some fans argued the moment had been blown out of proportion.
In the days after the outrage, several venues and event organisers reportedly postponed or cancelled upcoming Burna Boy performances.
Though official explanations were not always provided, industry insiders link the decisions to the growing PR fallout.
The artiste’s continued silence has further fuelled speculation, as he has neither apologised nor addressed the matter publicly.
His social media pages remain without any update regarding the incident.
