Bus crushes motorcyclist, passenger to death in Delta

A motorcyclist and a passenger have been confirmed dead in an auto crash on the Ughelli expressway in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

It was gathered that the accident which occurred on Monday, February 5, 2024, involved a motorcycle and a commercial bus.

A passenger in the bus disclosed that the driver crushed the motorcyclist and his passenger while attempting to side-track a pothole on the road.

“The driver fled immediately after the accident happened,” the bus passenger, who declined to be named, added.

Sympathisers at the scene blamed the cause of the accident on reckless driving on the part of the bus driver.

They also admonished motorcyclists to avoid plying the highway.

The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the accident and the death toll.
