The Body of Benchers has moved the Call to Bar ceremony from the Law School premises in Bwari, Abuja, to its headquarters in the Jabi area of the Federal Capital Territory.
The Body of Benchers made this known via a statement issued on Tuesday by its Secretary, Daniel Manasseh Tela.
Although the reason for the change of the event’s venue was not stated, it was gathered that the development was due to the security threat in Abuja.
Terrorists were said to have laid siege to Abuja with the intention to attack the Law School in Bwari, and other government facilities.
The statement read: “This is to notify all Members of the Body of Benchers and Aspirants to the Bar that the Call to Bar Ceremony earlier scheduled to hold at the Nigerian Law School, Bwari, Abuja has been rescheduled to hold as follows:

“Date: Wednesday, 27th July 2022
“Venue: Body of Benchers Hall, Plot 688, Institute & Research District FCC, Phase III (Behind Federal Medical Centre, Jabi Airport Road), Abuja. Time: 12 Noon.
“Parents/Guardians/Friends of the aspirants and the General public should take note that the ceremony is strictly for the Aspirants, therefore only the Aspirants will be granted access to the venue.
“There will be live coverage of the event on Channels Television as well as live streaming on YouTube.
“All aspirants are to be seated by 10 am. We regret all inconveniences caused by the change of venue,” Tela stated.
