CDS establishes sector 4 of operation Hadin Kai in Adamawa

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, has announced the creation of Sector 4 under Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), with its headquarters in Mubi, Adamawa State. The move is aimed at addressing emerging security threats in the northern part of the state.

The announcement came during General Musa’s operational visit to Adamawa on Friday, where he assessed troop readiness, identified operational gaps, and reinforced civil-military cooperation.

While in Yola, the CDS paid a courtesy visit to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri at the Government House. He commended the state government for its unwavering support to the Nigerian Armed Forces and the families of fallen soldiers.

General Musa also praised the Federal Government’s ongoing efforts to enhance the military’s capabilities, noting that such support has significantly contributed to recent security successes.

He emphasized the need for a balanced approach to security—combining both military (kinetic) and non-military (non-kinetic) strategies—while underlining the importance of addressing underlying issues such as poverty and illiteracy to achieve lasting peace.

“When governance directly impacts citizens’ lives, they become natural allies in preserving stability,” he noted, attributing Adamawa’s relative peace to the cooperation and resilience of its people.

In response, Governor Fintiri reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the Armed Forces through tactical, strategic, and logistical aid. He revealed that the state government would rehabilitate all internal roads within Gibson Jalo Military Barracks in Yola.

The governor also disclosed the recruitment of local hunters to support military operations in remote and challenging terrains, commending the CDS for establishing Sector 4 in Mubi, which he described as a timely response to the region’s rising security concerns.

While addressing troops during his visit, General Musa expressed deep appreciation for their service and sacrifices, conveying the gratitude of President Bola Tinubu. He also announced plans to construct additional military barracks and expand the military’s footprint in the region to effectively counter threats and enhance the protection of lives and property.

The CDS later toured the 153 Base Service Group of the Nigerian Air Force to inspect facilities and receive an operational briefing from Brigadier General O.A. Agwu, Commander of 23 Brigade.

General Musa lauded the brigade’s efforts in maintaining stability in the region and reiterated that the establishment of Sector 4 marks a significant step in fortifying security across Adamawa State.
