Chibok community raises the alarm over fresh Boko Haram attacks

The Kibaku Area Development Association (KADA) has raised fresh concerns over renewed attacks by Boko Haram in Kautikari and surrounding communities in Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State.

In a statement issued in Abuja, KADA’s National President, Nkeki Mutah, and National General Secretary, Ayuba Chiroma, described the attacks as coordinated and recurring, warning that the security situation in the affected areas is worsening.

The association said the continued assaults have triggered widespread fear among residents, forcing many to flee their homes and deepening the humanitarian crisis in the communities.

“The situation in Kautikari and other Kibaku communities has become dire, with continuous attacks disrupting livelihoods, destroying property, and worsening humanitarian conditions,” the statement said.

KADA noted that residents have endured prolonged hardship with little relief, urging security agencies to take swift and decisive action to restore safety.

The group called on the Federal Government, security agencies, and the international community to urgently intervene to halt the attacks and facilitate the safe return of displaced persons.

It also appealed to humanitarian organisations to scale up support for victims, particularly women and children, who are most affected by the crisis.

KADA emphasised the need for sustained efforts to secure Chibok and neighbouring communities, stressing that lasting peace is crucial for rebuilding and restoring normal life in the area.

The association reaffirmed its commitment to advocating for the safety and welfare of the Kibaku people while calling for collective action to end insurgency in the region.
