Christmas: Wike felicitates FCT residents, highlights year of remarkable achievements

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, has extended warm Christmas greetings to residents of the nation’s capital, urging them to embrace the spirit of love, unity and peaceful coexistence during the festive season.

In his 2025 Christmas message, Wike congratulated Christian faithful in the FCT and encouraged them to use the season for sober reflection and renewed commitment to values preached by Jesus Christ, including compassion, harmony and goodwill.

The minister also called on residents to pray for national leaders and the country, expressing optimism that Nigeria would continue to experience peace and progress in the coming years.

Reviewing developments in the territory, Wike said the last 12 months had recorded “monumental” progress across sectors.

According to him, schools have been renovated, health facilities equipped, roads and bridges constructed across area councils, while support to the judiciary and security agencies has also been strengthened.

He attributed many of the gains to the support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and thanked partners, stakeholders, FCTA staff and residents for their cooperation.

Wike assured that the administration would remain focused on expanding infrastructure and improving services that directly impact the lives of residents.

As the festive period gets underway, the minister urged residents to prioritize personal safety and promptly report suspicious activities to security agencies.

He said adequate arrangements were in place to ensure that celebrations across the territory are safe and peaceful.

“On behalf of the Federal Capital Territory Administration,” Wike said, “I wish all residents a Merry Christmas and joyful celebrations.”
