A Kaduna State High Court sitting in Kafanchan, on Thursday, remanded a farmer, Bulus Umaru, in the Kafanchan Correctional Centre for allegedly defiling two three-year-old girls.
The presiding judge, Justice Michael Eugene, who refused the farmer’s bail application, ordered his remand, pending the hearing of the case.
Justice Eugene adjourned the case until March 5, 2026, for trial.
Earlier, the State Counsel, Daniel Isah, told the court that the defendant committed the offences at Zunuruk in Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State December 18, 2025.
Isah said Umaru abducted the girls, took them to his room, and defiled them.
He added that the defendant was caught by some neighbours, who handed him over to the police.

The Kaduna State High Court sitting in Kafanchan also remanded a farmer, Timothy Ayock, for allegedly raping a 70-year-old widow.
The state counsel from the Ministry of Justice, Daniel Isah, told the court that the defendant forcefully had sexual intercouse with the woman at Tagama community in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State on December 26, 2025.
Ayock pleaded not guilty when the charges were read to him.
The prosecutor thereafter prayed the court for an adjournment to enable the state to prove its case against the defendant.
In his ruling, the presiding judge, Justice Eugene, ordered the remand of the farmer at the Kafanchan correctional centre.
The judge adjourned the case until March 5 for hearing.
