The Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court sitting in the Ikeja area of Lagos State has remanded a man, Abiodun Sodiq, at the correctional centre for defiling a three-year-old girl (name withheld).
The presiding judge, Justice Rahman Oshodi, remanded Sodiq at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.
Justice Oshodi ordered the remand of the man after he pleaded not guilty to the charge of defilement preferred against him by the Lagos State Government.

The judge, thereafter, adjourned the case until July 2 for the commencement of trial.
Earlier, the prosecution counsel, Inumidun Solarin, told the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offence in the Ajah area of Lagos on January 25, 2024.
Solarin said the defendant unlawfully had sexual intercourse with the three-year-old girl.
The lawyer added that the offence contravenes Section 137 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
