A court in Lagos State has remanded a police officer for allegedly defiling a 17-year-old girl at the Ogudu Area Command premises in the state.
The policeman was remanded after he was arraigned before the court on Tuesday, February 11, 2025.
The police officer was remanded in Kirikiri Correctional Centre and the case was adjourned to March 11, pending the issuance of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) legal advice.
The incident occurred on June 29, when the 17-year-old girl, who had reported her phone stolen, was allegedly tricked by the officer into visiting his office, where she was allegedly raped.

The Head of Public Affairs at the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency, Adejoke Ladenegan-Oginni, in a statement, reiterated the DSVA’s commitment to ensuring justice and the Lagos State Government’s zero-tolerance stance on sexual violence.
Ladenegan-Oginni urged everyone to “say something whenever they see something” and to reach out to the agency via their toll-free line or social media platforms.
