Award-winning Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has announced a donation of N300 million to orphanages in the country.
Davido made the announcement in a post on his X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, February 20, 2024.
The famous singer said the details of the donation’s disbursement would be disclosed on Wednesday, February 21.
“I and my foundation pledge the sum of 300 million Naira to orphanages around Nigeria … as my yearly contribution to the Nation ❤️ .. details of disbursement tomorrow 🇳🇬,” he wrote.
The Star recalls that Davido, in July 2023, disbursed N237 million to 424 orphanages in the country.

The ‘Unavailable’ crooner, in a post on his X account, said: “I’ve always wanted to use my platform to serve others. Thankful that through your generosity, I’ve been able to do so.
“We recently disbursed over N200m to several orphanages in Nigeria, a tradition that started a few years ago around my birthday.
“Thank you to everyone who donated. With your help, we are changing lives.
“This is what I mean when I say we rise by lifting others. These are words in action. God bless you all!”
The singer, in 2022, disbursed N250 million to 292 orphanages in Nigeria.
It would be recalled that ahead of Davido’s 29th birthday on November 19, 2021, the popular singer opened a Wema Bank account and asked his friends and colleagues to donate N1 million each.
Davido, in a few hours, amassed over N100 million, which later grew to N200 million over a few days.
He added a personal donation of N50 million, making the total amount N250 million.
