Afrobeats star Davido has addressed ongoing speculation surrounding his reported child custody dispute, stating that he never requested full custody but only joint custody.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), the singer explained that the situation was not a win-or-lose battle, stressing that there was “nothing to celebrate.”
“I never asked for full custody… I asked for joint custody,” he wrote.
“Nobody won, nobody lost… so I don’t know why some people are celebrating.”
Davido further revealed that he has decided to discontinue the legal case.
According to him, tensions escalated in court after the opposing lawyer allegedly referenced his late son, a move he described as a “low blow.”
He added that his priority remains his daughter’s well-being and future.
“My daughter will grow up knowing I fought for her… let’s move on.
“One love,” he concluded, accompanied by heart and prayer emojis.
The singer’s statement appears aimed at calming public debate and shifting focus away from the courtroom dispute toward family unity and healing.
