Davido mocks MC Oluomo over opposition to Osun NURTW ban

Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has criticised the President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, over his opposition to the Osun State Government’s suspension of the union’s activities.

The exchange followed the decision of Governor Ademola Adeleke to suspend NURTW operations across motor parks in the state after violent clashes between rival factions.

The governor also halted the collection of levies by the union and directed security agencies to arrest anyone operating in the name of the NURTW pending further directives.

Reacting to the development during the inauguration of the union’s new executives, MC Oluomo, who was represented by his deputy, Aliyu Issa Ore, rejected the state’s action, insisting that no governor has the constitutional authority to suspend the activities of the union.

“Today, we heard that the state governor in Osun suspended the activities of our union, which they don’t have that power. Not a single state governor has power to suspend the activities of the union because we are not under any state,” he said.

Davido, who is Governor Adeleke’s nephew, responded in a post on X, mocking the NURTW president’s public remarks.

“MC Oluomo wey no fit compose sentence dey talk.. Kudosuuuu,” the singer wrote.

The singer’s post has since sparked reactions on social media, with users expressing divergent views over the exchange and the Osun State Government’s decision to suspend the union’s operations.
