2027: Delta South leaders, Otuaro close ranks, back Tinubu, Oborevwori, Joel-Onowakpo

The Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Dr Dennis Brutu Otuaro, and other key All Progressives Congress stakeholders in Delta South Senatorial District have endorsed the senator representing the district, Thomas Joel-Onowakpo, for a second term in the 2027 general elections.

The endorsement was made at an official declaration rally held on Friday at the Oleh Township Stadium in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State. The gathering also adopted President Bola Tinubu and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as their sole candidates for the presidential and governorship elections respectively.

Other prominent figures at the rally included the member representing Burutu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Julius Pondi; Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Emomotimi Guwor; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Prince Johnson Erijo; APC state vice chairman and senatorial district chairman, Emmanuel Amgbaduba; and Executive Director of Corporate Services at the South South Development Commission, Tonye Timi.

All eight local government area chairmen within Delta South were also present, including Dagidi Andaye of Bomadi, Julius Takeme of Burutu, Prince Godwin Ogorugba of Isoko North, Isaac Aguanah of Patani, Warri Ovoke Friday of Isoko South, Weyinmi Agbateyiniro of Warri South, Sylvester Oromoni of Warri West, and Festus Ashima of Warri North.

The motion to adopt the three candidates was moved by Erijo, seconded by Timi, and put to a voice vote by the Speaker, Guwor, receiving what participants described as overwhelming validation from the crowd of party members and supporters.

Speaking at the event, Dr Otuaro described the triple endorsement as a fitting move to guarantee electoral victory for the APC in Delta South, expressing confidence that more development would come to the senatorial district in the years ahead.

“Senator Joel-Onowakpo has done his best in the senate, and it is only necessary that he is returned to consolidate on the gains he recorded in his first term,” Otuaro said, adding that President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori equally deserve second terms on account of their performances under the Renewed Hope Agenda and the M.O.R.E agenda respectively.

The PAP Administrator further declared that APC stakeholders and members in the senatorial district are united in their determination to mobilise the electorate ahead of next year’s contest.

“In Delta South Senatorial District, we are united by a common purpose and we are confident that the APC will win massively in Delta State in the 2027 general elections,” he said.
