DPO slumps in office, dies

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Jahun Local Government Area of Jigawa State, SP Abubakar Musa, has died.

The DPO slumped and died in his office at the Jahun Police Station on Friday night, January 27.

The spokesman for the Jigawa State Police Command, DSP Lawan Adamu, confirmed the death in a statement on Saturday, January 28, 2023.

He said the incident happened at about 9p.m. in the DPO’s office.

Adamu stated that the deceased had been battling with a protracted illness.

According to him, “SP Abubakar Musa died yesterday at about 9p.m. while closing from his official duty.”

The spokesman said the deceased was rushed to the Jahun General Hospital and Rashid Shekoni General Hospital and was later moved to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital where he was confirmed dead.

The state Commissioner of Police, CP. Emmanuel Ekot Effiom, has consoled with the deceased’s family and the Nigeria Police Force.
