The ASQ is believed to be a major professional platform for those in quality management in the United of States. Can you tell us what the ASQ is all about?

Thank you. ASQ – American Society for Quality is the biggest quality professionals, global organization with members in more than 130 countries, www. asq.org.

ASQ Student Chapter at University of Central Missouri (UCM) was established in 2009. Since it started the branch has continuously work in many projects related to scholarly work, research and poster presentation, campus and world conference, global book donation, and volunteer work. ASQ – UCM Student Chapter, the only one, was named the Outstanding Student Branch for the 4th consecutive year by ASQ Region 13.

How did you feel to be given award of recognition for your contributions to the development of students in quality management by the ASQ?

Indeed, I feel honoured and privileged to serve the ASQ-UCM Student Chapter in the past 14 years. Working with students, younger generations, and seeing them grow professionally with strong foundation and values helped to fulfil my purpose and a sense of accomplishment.

Besides, the ASQ Kansas City section has been a great support since the branch started in 2009. I highly appreciated their generosity and kindness to our students.

What do students stand to benefit from the ASQ?

ASQ helps students to grow as a quality professional through educational advancement and networking. The ASQ website and conference provide exclusive access to knowledge and skills development, Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques, solutions and resources to solve challenges, and enhance professional networks.

What advice do you have for the students?

My candid advice for students is to work hard, be kind, and hold on to their values. They can achieve greatness academic success, they should just remain focused and committed to their studies.
