The senator representing Zamfara West Senatorial District, Abdulaziz Yari, has been grilled and detained by the operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS).
It was gathered that Yari, a former governor of Zamfara State, was grilled at the DSS office in Abuja on Thursday, July 6, 2023.
The reason for the detention of the lawmaker has however yet to be ascertained.

“Senator Yari is still in the DSS custody, but he should be out soon in sha ’Allah. He went to their office himself after the plenary. I escorted him there and he has been there since then,” a source close to the former governor told Punch.
The source, however, did not disclose why the lawmaker was invited by the secret police.
The DSS has also yet to speak on the development as of press time.
Yari recently contested the 10th Senate Presidency but lost to a former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Sen. Godswill Akpabio.
