The Department of State Services (DSS) has summoned the Independent Petroleum Marketers (DPR) and other stakeholders over the lingering fuel scarcity in Kano State.
The DSS made the summon at a meeting between the agency and the petroleum marketers and other stakeholders in Kano on Monday.
A senior DSS officer, who craved anonymity, said the marketers at the marathon meeting shared some of the problems they encountered while bringing the product from other parts of Nigeria to Kano.

Some of the problems they face, according to him, included high cost of supplying Petroleum to others part of the country, lack of good roads, among others.
He, however, said the marketers have agreed to move petrol in the next two days and end the scarcity, assuring that the price of the ptoduct would also be addressed to official government price of N186 per litre.
He noted that the DPR has also set up three teams to monitor supplies in Kano, which he saidbwould commence operations on Tuesday to ensure uninterrupted supply of petrol to the people of Kano State.
