EFCC arrests 24 internet fraudsters in Edo

The operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested 24 suspected internet fraudsters in Benin, the Edo State capital.

The EFCC officers arrested the suspected internet fraudsters on Monday, September 30, 2024.

The spokesperson for the anti-graft agency, Dele Oyewale, in a statement, noted that the suspects were arrested following actionable intelligence of their suspected involvement in computer-related fraud.

EFCC arrests 13 Sokoto students for internet fraud

Oyewale listed items recovered from the suspected internet fraudsters to include 11 exotic cars, laptops, and phones.

He said the sum of N160,000 was also recovered from one of the suspects.

“The suspects have made useful statements and will be charged to court as soon as investigations are completed,” Oyewale added.
