The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Kannywood actress Samha Inuwa over allegations of naira mutilation.
The arrest was carried out on Tuesday by operatives of the EFCC’s Kano Zonal Directorate following the circulation of a viral video on social media in which the actress was reportedly seen using naira notes to clean mucus from her nose.
According to a statement issued by the EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, the commission launched an investigation after the video surfaced and subsequently traced and apprehended the actress for questioning.
The anti-graft agency said Inuwa is currently being held in its custody as investigations continue.
The EFCC added that she would be charged to court upon the conclusion of its probe.
