The Lagos State Government has cancelled Wednesday, May 4, 2022, from the public holidays earlier declared to mark the Workers Day and Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
The state government said it only approved May 2, and 3 as public holidays.
The Lagos State Head of Service, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, made this known via a release he personally signed on Friday.
Muri-Okunola had earlier, in a circular to workers, approved May 2-4 as public holidays.
However, upon the declaration of May 2 and 3 as public holidays by the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, the Lagos HoS made a u-turn and approved the same, urging workers in the state to disregard the first circular dated April 27, 2022.
