The Central Criminal Court in the United Kingdom has adjourned the alleged organ harvesting case involving the former Deputy Senate President, Sen. Ike Ekweremadu, and his wife, Beatrice, till October 31.
Ekweremadu will remain in custody until the next adjourned date.
The couple have since been standing trial for allegedly plotting to traffic a Nigerian into the United Kingdom to harvest his kidney for their ailing daughter.
Beatrice was granted bail last week while her husband was denied bail.

The wife was charged with arranging or facilitating the travel of another person with a view to exploitation, between August 1 last year and May 5, under the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
On the other hand, Ekweremadu, a lawyer and Senator representing Enugu West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, was charged with conspiracy to arrange or facilitate travel of another person with a view to exploitation, namely organ harvesting.
