Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk and his longtime partner, Shivon Zilis, have ended their relationship after having four children together.

Zilis, a Neuralink executive and mother of four of Musk’s children, announced the separation in a post on X on Friday, saying the breakup happened suddenly and without warning.

“It’s hard to go from in love to let go in a week with no warning, but that’s just how it is sometimes,” she wrote.

Zilis said she remained grateful for the relationship and the family they built together, adding that she hoped she and Musk could remain friends and co-parents.

The couple’s children are twins Strider and Azure, born in 2021; daughter Arcadia, born in 2024; and son Seldon Lycurgus, born in 2025.

In her post, Zilis expressed continued affection for Musk despite the breakup and said she would continue to wish him well.

She also shared screenshots of recent messages between them, including affectionate exchanges that preceded the separation. Musk had not publicly responded to her announcement at the time of reporting.

Zilis and Musk have maintained a close personal and professional relationship for years. Zilis has worked with several of Musk’s ventures and previously served on the OpenAI board.

During testimony in Musk’s legal battle with OpenAI in May 2026, she discussed aspects of their relationship and confirmed that they share four children.

Despite the split, Zilis said her focus remained on their children and expressed hope that the two would maintain a positive co-parenting relationship.
