The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has appointed Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel, as the chairman of the 2023 Presidential Campaign Council of the party.

Sokoto State Governor and Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, Aminu Tambuwal, was appointed as the Director-General of the campaign council.

This was made known via a statement issued on Thursday by the PDP National Organising Secretary, Umar Bature.

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, was appointed as the Vice Chairman (North), while Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, was appointed as the Vice Chairman (South) of the campaign council.

The PDP also appointed former governor of Cross River State, Liyel Imoke, as Deputy Director General Operations; former PDP National Secretary, Prof. Adewale Oladipo, as Deputy Director Administration, media mogul, Chief Raymond Dokpesi, as Deputy Director Technical and Systems; while Ekwesilieze Nwodo was appointed as Deputy Director Research and Strategy of the Presidential Campaign Council.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, other PDP Governors, and some stakeholders of the party were appointed as members of the campaign council.

Other members include former Vice President, Nnamadi Sambo; former Senate Presidents, Bukola Saraki, David Mark, and Pius Anyim.

Members of the National Assembly, former governors, and former ministers were also appointed as members of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council.

Bature, however, noted that all the members of the campaign council would be inaugurated on September 28, 2022, at the International Conference Centre in Abuja.
