Former Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, has lost her husband, Anthony Adeniyi Adeosun, who died in Lagos on Wednesday at the age of 62.
His passing was announced in a statement issued by the Adeosun family on Thursday and signed by Rev. C. A. Adeosun.
The family described the late Anthony Adeosun as a respected businessman and committed Christian whose life was marked by integrity, generosity and unwavering faith.
“It is with profound sorrow, yet in total submission to the will of Almighty God, that the Adeosun family announces the passing of our beloved husband, father and brother, Mr. Anthony Adeniyi (Niyi) Adeosun, who was called home to glory on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, in Lagos,” the statement read.
According to the family, he dedicated his life to hard work, service to God and the wellbeing of his family and community, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and commitment.
The family said it was taking solace in God during the period of mourning and noted that funeral and burial arrangements would be announced at a later date.
Anthony Adeosun is survived by his wife, former Finance Minister Kemi Adeosun, his children and siblings, including Kuramo Capital founder, Adewale Adeosun.
The family also expressed appreciation to friends, associates and well-wishers for their prayers, condolences and support, praying for the peaceful repose of his soul.
