Ex-minister Abba Moro emerges Senate minority leader

A former Minister of Interior, Senator Abba Moro, has emerged as the Senate Minority Leader.

This was made known by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, at the plenary in Abuja on Tuesday, November 21, 2023.

Moro elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is the lawmaker representing Benue South Senatorial District in the Senate.

He took over from Senator Simon Davou Mwadkwon representing Plateau North Senatorial District who was removed by the Appeal Court.

The PDP senators had agreed to zone the position to the North-Central for fairness and equity.

Moro served as a minister under former President Goodluck Jonathan.
