Richard Tallen, the only son of the immediate past Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen, has been confirmed dead.
Richard’s demise was confirmed via a statement issued by his family on Sunday, October 6, 2024.
The family disclosed that the former minister’s son died on Sunday morning at the Cedar Crest Hospital in Abuja, after being hospitalised.
The cause of his death was not immediately known but he was said to have been placed on oxygen at the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on Friday night.
Also confirming Richard’s death, his alma mater, the Vom Old Boys Association (VOBA), wrote on its Facebook page that the former minister’s only son died in Abuja after a brief illness.

VOBA stated: “On a very sad note we regret to announce the sudden passing of our member, Mr Richard Adamu Tallen.
“He passed on on Saturday 5th October in Abuja after a brief illness, leaving behind a beloved Family including his Wife & Children.
“Burial Arrangements will be announced by the Family.
“Eternal rest grant unto him oh Lord, may perpetual light shine upon him, may the soul of Richard and all departed VOBA RIP. Amen.”
The late Richard, a graduate of Computer Science from a United States university, died at the age of 42 and was survived by a wife and three children.
