Former Senate President, Ken Nnamani, has withdrawn from the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential race.
Nnamani announced his withdrawal from the presidential race during a meeting with journalists in Abuja on Monday.
The former Senate President said the withdrawal became necessary over his inability to “market” his profile and ideas to the APC delegates ahead of the presidential primaries slated for today, June 6 to 8, 2022.
Nnamidi, who was earlier screened by the ruling party, said: “In the present circumstances, it does not make any sense for me to continue in the race as I have not had the opportunity to market my profile and ideas to the delegates of our party in a manner that allow for deliberation and introspection.
“Therefore, I discontinue my aspiration and wish the party successful primary and unity of purpose so that we can win the 2023 general election.

“I will continue to engage with the party and its leadership to make sure that the ideas and values that I cherish and propagate find strong footing in the party administration and in public leadership after election,” the ex-federal lawmaker stated.
Other aspirants vying for the APC presidential ticket include Yemi Osinbajo; the party’s national leader, Sen. Bola Tinubu; Senate President, Ahmad Lawan; former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Sen. Godswill Akpabio; Governors Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti), Yahaya Bello (Kogi), and David Umahi (Ebonyi).
Others are former Governors Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun), Sani Yerima (Zamfara), Rochas Okorocha (Imo); and the former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.
Others include former Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba; Pastor Felix Nicholas, the only female presidential aspirant, Mrs Uju Ken-Ohanenye; Pastor Tunde Bakare; Sen. Ajayi Boroffice; former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole; oil magnate, Tein Jack; and a few others.
