Ex-senator Peter Nwaoboshi is dead

The former senator representing Delta North Senatorial District, Peter Onyelukachukwu Nwaoboshi, has been confirmed dead.

Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori confirmed the former senator’s death on Friday, December 19, 2025.

Oborevwori, in a condolence message issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Festus Ahon, expressed sorrow over the passing of the former lawmaker, describing his death as a great loss to Delta State, the Anioma nation, and Nigeria at large.

The governor also described Nwaoboshi as a proud son of Delta State and a courageous defender of the Anioma cause, whose contributions to nation-building would remain indelible.

Details surrounding the former senator’s death were yet to be made public as of the time of this report.
