The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has granted approval for the acquisition of Chivita|Hollandia (CHI Ltd.) by UAC of Nigeria Plc.
UAC confirmed the development in a statement to the Nigerian Exchange Ltd. on Saturday, announcing that the transaction has been completed following the commission’s regulatory clearance.
The approval comes after the July 30, 2025 announcement that UAC and CHI Ltd. had reached an agreement for the sale of the food and beverage company.
CHI Ltd., renowned for its popular Chivita and Hollandia brands, remains one of Nigeria’s leading names in the food and drinks sector.
Managing Director of CHI Ltd., Mr. Eelco Weber, expressed delight over the approval, noting that the company looks forward to a smooth transition under UAC’s ownership.
“We are pleased to have received regulatory approval for this transaction and look forward to a seamless transition,” Weber said.
UAC’s Group Managing Director, Mr. Fola Aiyesimoju, described the acquisition as a major milestone aligned with the company’s growth ambitions.
“We are delighted to officially welcome the Chivita|Hollandia team and brands into the UAC family.
“Together, we will build on their strong legacy and market leadership,” he stated.
