The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, says residents across the territory are now beginning to experience tangible benefits of governance under the administration of Bola Tinubu.
Wike made the statement on Monday while inspecting ongoing infrastructure projects, noting that the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda is translating into real improvements in people’s daily lives.
During a visit to Pai III community in Kwali Area Council, the minister was received by enthusiastic residents. He described the turnout as spontaneous, explaining that no prior public notice was given ahead of his visit. According to him, the reaction from locals reflects a growing trust in government and a shift in how rural communities perceive leadership.
He highlighted the Yangoji–Gomani–Pai road project as a key intervention aimed at improving connectivity and living standards in rural areas. Wike noted that for years, many communities felt disconnected from governance, often hearing about government without experiencing its impact firsthand.
“Now, they can see what government truly means—bringing development closer to the people and improving their lives,” he said.
The minister added that President Tinubu has kept his promises to residents, stressing that the true measure of governance lies in the well-being and satisfaction of citizens. He assured that the FCT Administration would sustain its focus on people-oriented projects, acknowledging that while conditions were previously challenging, noticeable progress is being made.
On the Arab Road project in Kubwa, Wike confirmed it is nearing completion and ready for commissioning. He commended the contractor for delivering quality work, pointing to features such as completed drainage systems and installed streetlight infrastructure.
He further disclosed that a series of project inaugurations across the FCT will commence on June 8 and run for 31 days.
