FCT poll: Voting begins at Kubwa PU 16

Voting has commenced at Kubwa Polling Unit 16 in Kubwa for the Federal Capital Territory Area Council elections taking place today, February 21, 2026.

The exercise began at about 9:00 a.m. after voter registers were displayed and details verified using the Bi-modal Voter Accreditation System in the presence of party agents.

The Presiding Officer told reporters that officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission arrived at the polling unit around 7:35 a.m., ahead of the scheduled 8:30 a.m. start of the election.

Observers at the unit reported the presence of party agents representing major political parties, including the All Progressives Congress, Zenith Labour Party, and the All Progressives Grand Alliance, who were on ground to monitor the voting process.
