FEC mourns death of ex-minister Oluwasanmi

The Federal Executive Council has expressed sadness over the death of the former Minister of State for Power and Steel, Chief Oyekunle Oluwasanmi, who died on Thursday.

Oluwasanmi served as a minister in 1997 under the administration of late Gen. Sani Abacha.

FEC, in a statement issued on Friday by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, commiserated with the government and the people of Osun State, the deceased family, friends and associates, and prayed to God to “grant eternal repose to the soul of the deceased”.

FEC further hailed Oluwasanmi for embarking on “a wide range of reforms in the nation’s power and steel sector” as a minister.

Before his appointment as a minister, Chief Oluwasanmi was also Customs and Excise Area Administrator for the Tincan Island and Calabar Ports.

He also served on several boards and commissions.
