Security operatives in Taraba State have arrested a suspected female kidnapper notorious for coordinating abductions in the Chanchangi area of the state.
The suspect, whose identity has been withheld for security reasons, was apprehended after allegedly collecting a ₦1.5 million ransom from one of her victims.
According to security sources, the arrest followed credible intelligence gathered by operatives deployed to the area. Preliminary investigations revealed that the woman had played a key role in several kidnapping operations within the Chanchangi axis.
She was said to have handled logistics, provided food supplies to captors, and negotiated ransom payments on behalf of her criminal gang.
Authorities confirmed that efforts are ongoing to arrest other members of the syndicate who are currently on the run.
Security agencies have urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements to the nearest security formation to aid the ongoing crackdown on kidnapping networks in the state.
